Nikola Labs wins Global Cable Innovation pitch competition
Win at Hangzhou, China Summit provides another proof point in entry to Asian market
COLUMBUS, Ohio, November 29, 2017
Wooing the world to wireless power, pioneer Nikola Labs won the first ever Global Cable Innovation Summit pitch competition held in Hangzhou, China on November 14.
A partnership between US-based Cable Labs and China-based Wasu Media Holding and the International Coverage and Transmission Conference (ICTC), the summit gave Nikola Labs the opportunity to share its vision of wireless power with executives in China. The invitation to participate came as a result of Nikola’s successful performance at the Cable Labs Summer Innovation Showcase in Colorado earlier this year. Among 10 invitees – all given 20 minutes to clearly articulate their value proposition and company vision as it relates to the cable industry – Nikola Labs was selected the winner, and given a plaque to commemorate the victory.
With the global intrigue around wireless power and Cable Labs’ status as one of the largest global associations for the cable industry, this summit enables the OSU spinout company to continue to build international relationships among cable industry leaders. Showcasing its team, strengths and capabilities, most importantly it thrusts Nikola Labs onto the world stage as it demonstrates the role it can cost effectively play within the cable industry to help invent a better future.
“We are thrilled to have won this competition. It’s a huge vote of confidence for what we have accomplished in three short years and what we are striving to further achieve as we create the future. We know wireless power will impact the entire planet, and that drives our goal to build the world’s best wireless power company,” said Will Zell, CEO, Nikola Labs. “It was tremendous to experience the enthusiastic response from the audience around our vision.”
